KUCHING: PCSS Consultancy Sdn Bhd (PCSS), a project management service provider based in Kuching, is currently providing project management training under the Project Management Institute (PMI) standard.

Established in 2005, PCSS is looking into expanding its services to more than just a project management software provider but a solutions provider for its client.

“We sell our solutions which include software and implementation services whereby we will configure the software to suit our client’s organisation or industry requirements. Then, we will train our clients on how to use the software as well as how to manage their projects using that software.

“We write procedures and processes for our clients to help them in understanding how the software works,” PCSS managing director, Phil Palmer said.

He further added, “We also mentor our clients and support our clients’ organisation by visiting them periodically to ask them on how they are coping with the software.”

The strong demand for training had resulted in the recent opening of a training facility in RH Plaza, BDC by PCSS, which recently became a PMI registered education provider.

The training facility is fully equipped to cater for all training course from Primavera Project Management (P6), Synchro 4D Modeling, Mircrosoft Project and Auto Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software to methodology courses such as planning, scheduling and controlling, and project management controls.

In addition, Palmer said, “Our consultants are not just trained in the use of software functionality but have had years of hands-on experience in project management methodologies which provides our clients a higher return on investment when engaged with our services.”

He noted that some organisations were currently enforcing contractors to use and be trained in project management software like Primavera (P6) due to the benefits it returned in controlling projects with regard to time, cost and resources.

Palmer went on to highlight Synchro 4D Business Information Management (BIM) software tool which was for managing projects more interactively through the provision of a simulated build of the project after it integrated the project schedule with CAD objects.

He said, “The chief executive officer of Synchro will be in Kuching next week and will be providing free presentation of Synchro 4D software.”
